2018 is promising to bring plenty of exciting, new running shoes to the market, not the least of which are the models in the new HOKA ONE ONE FLY line. Having set themselves apart with their high level of cushioning, the designers at HOKA created the Fly line to introduce faster, lighter, and more responsive shoes that still feature their signature cushion. The simplest and most versatile model in the line will be the HOKA ONE ONE Cavu, a shoe with everything needed to run and no extra nonsense.

The midsole of the Cavu is constructed with HOKA’s new PROFLY™ technology, which is designed to provide a soft landing at the heel and a firmer forefoot for added propulsion. This combination should deliver a fast and comfortable ride with plenty of impact protection.

As opposed to the full-length RMAT® outsole design on the new HOKA ONE ONE Mach, the Cavu includes strategic RMAT placements that leave parts of the midsole exposed. This design should provide durability in high-wear areas as well as increased responsiveness without extra weight. The outsole also includes wishbone siping, or cutaways, to increase both traction and flexibility for a smoother ride.

The upper of the Cavu is constructed with a lycra comfort bootie inside of a seamless, open knit, engineered mesh outer fabric that should work together to deliver a snug yet flexible wrap with plenty of breathability. Additional invisible support from the heel counter should provide enough structure for a secure feel within the shoe.
